Chef Jeff Palmer, Lead Instructor/TSA Culinary Arts Academy

 

Chef Jeff Palmer has been a Culinary Arts Instructor for the Baldwin Park Adult School since 1999. Jeff holds a Vocational Teaching Credential in Food and Beverage Production through San Diego State University. Chef Jeff and the Culinary Arts program has received several awards of congressional recognition from former Congresswoman Hilda Solis and Awards of Achievement from Assemblymen Ed Hernandez. On October 30, 2010 Chef Jeff was presented the CALCO Excellence in Teaching award by the California Counsel of Adult Education (CCAE). Most recently, on June 3, 2011, Chef Jeff received the Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education, Teacher of the Year Award for the 2010-2011 school year.

Prior to teaching, Chef Jeff Palmer worked as a Chef in the foodservice industry. He worked for a company named Food Systems Inc. as a Chef, Chef manager, and assistant Catering Manager. He also worked as a Chef consultant for a short time, working in private homes, catering companies, and restaurants. Chef Jeff enjoys bringing his "Real life" experience and passion to the classroom to share with the students of the Culinary Arts Academy

 

Chef Brandon Palmer, Chef Instructor 

Chef Brandon Palmer has been a Culinary Arts Instructor for the Baldwin Park Adult School since May 2010. Chef Brandon currently teaches the students in the Maine Street Cafe. Students learn how read and fire tickets like in a "Real Restaurant" serving the staff of the Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education. Chef Brandon formerly taught at our Culinary School teaching the Introduction and Advanced courses.  

Chef Brandon brings recent "Real Life" experience to the program. Chef Brandon was formerly the Executive Sous Chef of the Pacific Palms Resort. In his seven year stint at the resort he served as the Banquet Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and last as the Executive Sous Chef of foodservice operations. In 2006, Chef Brandon received the distinguished award of Sous Chef of the Year from the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association. Chef Brandon brings strong foundation skills to the Culinary Arts Academy and its students.
